Mari Tamaki is a teenage girl who dreams of going on many adventures during her youth. However, her fear of failing always causes her to back out at the last minute, even though she is already a second-year high school student. But everything changes when she meets Shirase Kobuchizawa.
Shirase's mother disappeared while exploring Antarctica. In order to find her, Shirase has worked tirelessly at part-time jobs to save up the money to go on a civilian Antarctic expedition. Despite her classmates mocking her dream and calling it senseless and unrealistic, Shirase remains determined to find her mother.
Mari is moved by Shirase's steadfastness and decides to accompany her on the journey. Soon, their enthusiasm inspires Hinata Miyake, a curious and sociable girl, and Yuzuki Shiraishi, an elegant girl with little experience in friendship, to join them. As the four embark on the journey of a lifetime, their bond grows stronger than ever before.
