Despite being used to being the top-performing student, Kanna is outshone by Yuu on her first high school aptitude test by a mere point. Yuu, who possesses traits of both kuudere and dandere, is naturally gifted and doesn't attach much value to good grades, so she throws away her exam straight away. Kanna is deeply troubled by this decision and proceeds to publicly scold Yuu for discarding the symbol of her "hard work". This act of either kindness or superiority only serves to make Yuu develop feelings for Kanna, however, Kanna remains oblivious to this and focused on herself, as usual.
