The Summer Ghost has brought Aoi Harukawa, Tomoya Sugisaki, and Ryou Kobayashi together in pursuit of the urban legend. The three youths struggle with personal hardships; Aoi is relentlessly bullied and doesn't see a purpose to life; Tomoya is prohibited from venting his stress through creativity; and Ryou gives up his love for basketball. Despite their individual motives for seeking out the spirit of the black-clad youth who committed suicide, the trio finds themselves united by an unknown force. As summer comes to a close, they ponder if the ghost holds the answers to their dark questions about death.
