Jinsuke and his mother live in secrecy following the murder of his father, who witnessed a crime. Their efforts to remain hidden are in vain as their pursuers find them, leaving Jinsuke's mother gravely wounded. Suzuki, their enigmatic neighbor, saves Jinsuke from harm, unwittingly embroiling herself in a hazardous string of events.
