In an alternate world reminiscent of the 20th century, a great war rages between the alliance of the Grand Duchy- a nation that never saw the light of day in our history- and the Empire, which comprises of Poland-Lithuania that never faced ruin. They wage against the Republic, an Ottoman Empire that without a doubt held its own. Amidst this chaos is Lieutenant Martina M. Mayakovskaya, a rookie officer assigned to the Grand Duchy Logistics Corps- the division of the military responsible for supply and transportation, regarded as 'paper soldiers' by their peers. Her role is meant to entail a cushy desk job, with nothing to worry about other than stamping paperwork. But fate has other plans for Martina, as she keeps finding herself in the middle of combat. On top of it all, she has an eight-legged pseudoweasel as her pet- or did it choose her?- and it seems to have a knack for averting danger each time.
