Initially, Motoki's existence was typical and unremarkable. However, he quickly notices peculiar changes taking place within himself and his surroundings. His eyesight, previously impaired, is inexplicably restored, and he unexpectedly becomes more physically appealing. Two unfamiliar individuals, Shidou and Kubota, coincidentally appear in his classroom. Despite his classmates' assertions that they have always been present, Motoki has no recollection of them. Eventually, he learns that both Shidou and Kubota have intentions of terminating his life and consuming his heart.
