Uta Naruse's original affection for her childhood friend, Kaoru, was shattered when Kaoru married Uta's elder brother, Reiichi, whom Uta also held in high esteem. Due to various reasons, Uta is now living with the blissful newlyweds, but one year under the same roof as her crush is making it increasingly difficult for her to manage her emotions. Her loyal confidant, Kuroe, is the only one with whom she shares her concerns.
Though plagued by what she thinks is an endless unrequited love, Uta cannot seem to find closure. Recent events suggest that there may be underlying issues in Kaoru and Reiichi's relationship which they are hiding behind their apparent happiness.
