When he was in middle school, Ichinose Kimitaka taught his friends about basketball, but they became better than him. This made Kimitaka feel jealous and upset, especially when he overheard those same friends wishing that he would fail.
Kimitaka went to throw his prized basketball shoes away, but he met a tall girl who was also upset. She was ready to give up her dream of dancing the Spanish dance because her large hands and feet were making it difficult. Kimitaka suggested that she try playing basketball, and they traded shoes.
