A resident of Ordon Village and a shepherd, Link witnesses monsters snatching away village children, including his childhood pal Ilia. In pursuit of them, he discovers his surroundings enveloped in darkness, only to undergo a sudden transformation into a wolf. Seeking to restore illumination to the world, he encounters an enigmatic figure by the name of Midna, thus embarking on a quest.
