During her hurry to a piano class, Saki ran into a stranger on the road. Once she regained her composure, the stranger picked up Saki's sheet music and gave it back to her alongside a band-aid without saying a word. Saki was curious about the person's identity and was shocked to find out the next day that she went to the same high school and was named Kanon. Even with a hearing disability, Kanon refused to be treated differently from her peers or teachers. Throughout the year, Saki formed a close relationship with Kanon and broke through her reserved demeanor.
