The origin of manga can be traced back to the "This Man" legend, which originated when a resident of New York shared her recurring dreams about an unfamiliar man's face with her therapist in 2006. What is remarkable is that over 3,000 people from all over the world claim to have dreamt of "This Man." In contemporary Japan, a mother and daughter ask Hakaru Amano, an expert in facial composites, to draw the face of a man who intruded on their property illegally. Amano ultimately concludes that the man's face matches that of "This Man." As the story unfolds, a narrative involving a serial killer emerges.
