Japan was rocked by a brutal war that compelled Shoichi, his sisters, and several young ones to flee by boat. Regrettably, their voyage was disrupted by an assault from unknown samurai, who seemed to hail from the future. Shizue ended up with a mysterious blemish on her face as a consequence. Fortunately, the Yumihari battleship came to their rescue, rescuing them all. During their time on the ship, Shoichi could not help but marvel at Shizue's remarkable recovery from the attack.
