The year 1910 marked the end of civilization and the start of westernization in Tokyo, during the 43rd year of the Meiji era. Tsumura Hana lost her mother and took on the responsibility of caring for her younger brother, while serving the Arima family as their attendant. But meeting the family's leader, Arima Mitsuyuki, would drastically alter Hana's destiny amidst the shifting era. As the times changed, Hana's life would be thrown into turmoil.
