Yuu Sasaya, a first-year Japanese major, finds it challenging to adjust to the sophisticated city lifestyle, being a naive country girl. However, after witnessing a stage play, Yuu finds her calling in acting, especially after a minor role performance leaves a profound impact on her.
Upon sharing her newfound dream with a classmate, Yuu seizes an opportunity to tour a theatre company, where she meets Touya Ichii, a well-reputed rookie actor, whose voice and acting had moved her deeply. Recognizing Yuu's passion, Touya recommends her to Garandou Company, a theatre troupe run by Shougo Shimamura.
However, Shougo realizes that Yuu is an amateur with insufficient acting experience to match his high expectations. Still determined to hone her craft, Yuu convinces Shougo to allow her to observe and learn from them. Ashita no Ousama is the story of Yuu Sasaya's journey as she discovers her hidden talent while exploring different positions offered by the theatre troupe, showing an immense passion for making it big in the dramatic arts.
