After coming to a small provincial town where the traditional performance art of "Owara" is held in high regard, Hotaruko, a transfer student from Tokyo, finds herself in an uncomfortable position inside an empty classroom. It is then that she meets Hikaru, a local boy. This unusual encounter leads to a strange bond between them, and unexpected events soon follow.
