Ayumi Kohinata, a first-year high school student, thought her life couldn't get any better when the person she likes confesses their feelings and becomes her first boyfriend. But on their first date, Ayumi receives a disturbing call from her unremarkable classmate, Zenko Umine, who threatens to jump off the roof. The shock causes Ayumi to lose consciousness, and when she awakens in the hospital, she discovers that she has swapped bodies with Umine.
Desperate to return to her own body, Ayumi struggles to convince others of the peculiar situation, but no one believes her, and she becomes the subject of ridicule. Meanwhile, Umine tells Ayumi that she's always wanted to experience life as a popular girl and has no intention of switching back. Determined to reclaim her life, Ayumi sets out to take back her body, friends, and boyfriend from Umine no matter what.
