The Twelve City is ruled by families named after the Chinese zodiac signs. Humans and youkai coexist in this city, but when a revengeful cat youkai holds a grudge against the Rat Family, Nekuni Kyouichi, the head of the Rat Family, is in danger. Kyouichi must survive the attack, but things get complicated when he discovers that the skittish Nekogasaki Natsuho is the attacker. As the famous saying goes "Curiosity killed the cat," Kyouichi wonders if Natsuho is also in danger.
