Naoto Wakatsuki is cruelly bullied by Akira Kaneshiro and his lackey, and Yuuya Matsuda is just another student caught in the crossfire. Due to false rumors, the unpredictable Kaneshiro is feared by everyone, making them afraid to oppose him.
Remarkably strange objects continually appear on Yuuya's balcony. One day, he discovers a newspaper clipping from the future that predicts a murder will take place on October 2. The article explains that the culprit will turn themselves in then commit suicide while in custody. Yuuya doesn't think anything of it until he comes across Naoto holding a bloodstained baseball bat that very same night. In a stunning confession, Naoto admits that he killed Kaneshiro.
Fed up with being a bystander, Yuuya agrees to harbor Naoto in his room throughout the investigation. However, once discovered, the two boys must flee the town and go into hiding. Yuuya must persuade Naoto to alter his decision before October 2 if he wishes to save him from his fate. Yet, he soon learns that Naoto and his deed are much more complicated than he initially believed.
