Daichi Yonekawa initially perceives badminton as a sport exclusively meant for girls and begrudgingly partners with his twin sister, Yuki, during training sessions. However, his interest in the sport is piqued, leading him to challenge Taka Tsubahara, the Japanese Junior Champion, after growing tired of lackluster practices with his sibling. Daichi realizes the exhilaration of playing badminton and, consequently, renounces his membership on the soccer team to devote himself more fully to the sport. He aims to compete with Taka Tsubahara once again, but this time on a level playing field.
