In the aftermath of an environmental disaster that led to the eruption of Mt. Fuji and inundation of Yokohama, humanity is on the verge of extinction. In this bleak world, a cheerful android named Alpha Hatsuseno operates a modest cafe bearing her name near Yokohama. Although her owner is absent for an indeterminate period, Alpha maintains an upbeat demeanor despite receiving few customers.
As she waits for her owner's return, Alpha ventures out on her dependable scooter and uses her camera to capture her travels. While making new acquaintances among fellow androids and the like, they forge memories that, in turn, brighten up their otherwise dismal surroundings.
Through its serene portrayal of Alpha's daily life, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou offers a mesmerizing and contemplative perspective of time's ebb and flow in the midst of mundane life.
