In his first year of middle school, Inaba Yuushi's parents passed away and he had to move in with his relatives. Despite their care, he felt like a burden and longed to escape to a high school dormitory. Unfortunately, the dormitory burned down before he could relocate. Penniless and unwilling to live with his relatives any longer, Yuushi searched for a place to live as an orphaned student. Eventually, he stumbled upon an elegant old building that fit his budget perfectly. Yet, it turned out to be a Monster House, where supernatural beings coexisted with humans. Yuushi met Akine, a fellow high school student who wasn't afraid of the creatures and could even exorcise malevolent spirits. Overwhelmed by the strange elements of his new life, Yuushi realized that high school had become much more bizarre than he ever anticipated.
