On a cold and foreboding night, Sho-an returns home with what he believes is the motionless form of a handsome man. However, he quickly discovers that the man is very much alive. Though Sho-an had originally intended to use the body for medical purposes, he is disappointed to learn of its continued liveliness. The man, whom Sho-an dubs Yuki, becomes his permanent resident and constant companion. Over the course of the year, Yuki takes advantage of Sho-an's hospitality and makes a cozy home in Sho-an's bed.
