With a focus on the upcoming Tokyo Olympics, the Japanese government increased its censorship of mass media in 2019. This made it more difficult for manga with obscene content to be published. Yet, horror manga writer Hibino Mikio saw a chance to release his latest work, "Dark Walker," despite the restrictions. The story is set in a world where a disease turns regular people into nocturnal cannibals, and Mikio confronts an industry fighting for artistic liberty.
