Eijun Sawamura, the captain of his middle school baseball team, blamed himself for their crushing loss in the final game. His exceptional fastball had cost them the chance to advance to the national championship. Determined to make it right, he promised his friends that they would make it there in high school. However, his poor grades and lack of school recommendations left him feeling unmotivated.
One day, a scout from Seidou High School in Tokyo spotted Sawamura's unique pitching style and invited him to observe their nationally-ranked baseball team. Despite his initial reluctance, Sawamura was persuaded to attend a practice session where he faced one of their batters. It was during this competition that he caught the eye of Kazuya Miyuki, a skilled catcher who brought out Sawamura's strengths as a pitcher.
Though plagued with guilt over leaving his old teammates behind, Sawamura's friends encouraged him to take the offer and pursue his dreams. With a renewed sense of determination, he accepted and dove headfirst into the grueling process of becoming Seidou's team ace. Yet, his former school remained close to his heart, and he carried their spirit with him throughout his journey. With his newfound drive and team camaraderie, Sawamura embraced his transfer to Tokyo and led his team towards the national championship.
