Tasuku is a young boy living in the city of light, but he calls its shadowy underbelly home. Despite its picturesque location on a hill, the city has a dark side. Tasuku works for a secretive organization that facilitates suicides through phone calls, but he is not the only one struggling. Satoshi bounces from one low-paying job to another, Momoko is abandoned by her prostitute mother, and Hoichi desires to purchase and restore the city to its humble beginnings as a country village. All of them are trying to make ends meet, and they are all entangled in dubious activities, including the suicide group.
