Yuriko Togawa, aged 23, withdrew from college half a year ago. Despite regarding herself as anything but dependable and self-sufficient, her classmates always saw her as such. Yearning for someone to provide for her, she pins her hopes on sparking a romance with her former colleague Horita Tomotsugu.
Horita had once dreamed of debuting his band alongside Yuriko. However, the passage of time saw him compromised by reality and he became an office worker instead. Reuniting with Yuriko reignites his fire and he resolves to pursue that dream once more with her. Although they have different aims, after experiencing various trials and tribulations, Yuriko ultimately steps up to help Horita.
Subarashii Sekai features Yuriko and Horita's story among several other moving short stories. Each one portrays the demanding, painful, and realistic challenges that arise in everyday life.
