When Yamato Hino, a fervent sports lover, hears strange voices beckoning him, he suddenly finds himself transported to a parallel universe amidst a fierce thunderstorm. There he discovers the Kingdom Mu, which is under attack by the vile Dorado, ruler of the Empire of Dinosaurs. The queen of Mu, Aila Mu, had been praying for a savior to operate the mighty God Mazinger, and Yamato has been summoned for this task. Resolving to help fight against the dreaded Dorado and his army, Yamato joins forces with the brave soldiers of Mu to combat the enemy.
