In 526, witches were known to exist and were infamous for their practice of sorcery, but the concept of studying magic was unknown. Our tale follows a mercenary who is part human and part beast; cruelly referred to as a "fallen beast" by humans. He had always longed to be fully human until he met a witch who would transform his life completely.
"If you yearn for the form of a human, become my escort, mercenary," the witch, known as "Zero," proposed. She was searching for a stolen grimoire, called "The Book of Zero," that allegedly contained valuable magical knowledge and could easily bring the world to its knees. The tome was stolen by thieves from her lair.
Despite his disdain for witches, the mercenary couldn't resist the opportunity to become human, and thus accompanied Zero on her quest. This is a story about a proud sorceress and a sympathetic beast.
