Uka Ishimori found middle school to be an intimidating experience, earning the unpleasant nickname "Stone" due to her lack of social skills. She endured relentless bullying, but has since moved on to high school with hopes for a fresh start. These hopes are dashed when Kai Miura, a fellow student with a confident personality and bright lemon-colored hair, accidentally drenches her in juice.
Kai possesses all the qualities Uka lacks, making him well-liked and self-assured. At first, Uka is hesitant around Kai due to their differences. However, Kai proves himself to be a supportive figure in Uka's life by encouraging her to step out of her comfort zone and offering her assistance. As Uka tries to make new friends, she realizes that she has fallen in love with Kai. Their lives are forever changed after a chance encounter over lemon soda.
