Throughout her entire life, Akira Tsubakiya had been constantly mistaken for a boy due to her tall stature, flat chest, and lack of girlish qualities. During her middle school years, she made a pact with a boy named Haru from her cram school that they would both strive to attend the same prestigious high school. Despite Haru revealing his preference for long-haired girls, Akira couldn't resist falling for him and began growing out her hair. However, upon graduation, she discovered Haru already had a girlfriend who fit his description of a dream girl - cute, girly, and long-haired. Heartbroken, Akira chopped off her locks in defeat, concluding that there was no use attempting to appear more feminine.
Moving forward to her first year of high school, Akira elected to wear a skirt paired with the top half of the boys' uniform to class. Her classmates dubbed her "Prince Akira," and her androgynous appeal enamoured her female peers. Though she had not seen Haru in quite some time, she unexpectedly crossed paths with Haru's supposed "girlfriend" and was astonished to learn that the individual was actually a boy!
