Schatzi, employed as a chef at her dad's eatery in New York, is feeling low following a failed relationship. Her pals advise her to seek out fresh romance, and she unexpectedly meets Hanley Maize, a millionaire with a warm heart. Although Mr. Perfect asks for her hand in marriage, Schatzi struggles to curb her emotions for Tom, a secretive and alluring individual who frequents the restaurant.
