A new student at St. George International School quickly becomes the most talked-about student. Despite being in Tokyo, Japan, Yonogi Dai is a Japanese boy who grew up in the US and is visiting Japan for the first time.
Dai appears distant and uninterested in making friends, portraying a gentle facade but displaying a harsh and unsocial personality underneath. Popular and well-liked Jerry Morton considers ignoring the cold Dai, but his kind heart and curiosity make him approach Dai regardless.
Jerry, along with his friends Marty and others, face difficulties in dealing with Dai's distant personality. However, despite Dai's tendency to reveal his lack of closeness with his actions, he eventually becomes their friend.
Dai's new friends soon begin to uncover the mysteries surrounding him, including why he is in Japan and his relation to his family, his personal contact with Ken in the States, and his connection to the well-known game "Sabbath Child." Dai's true self is also discovered just as he learns who his real friends are and discovers more about himself in the process.
