A young investigator working for the Edo bakufu, Sabu, along with a blind master swordsman named Ichi, sets out on a mission to aid the common people in solving mysteries and correcting injustices often committed by thieves and corrupt officials. Midori, Sabu's betrothed, is the child of his higher-up and serves as a law enforcement officer for the Tokugawa shogunate.
