On the final day of the term, Ichika Tachibana, a quiet and reserved fourteen-year-old in junior high, is assigned to clean an abandoned school building. There are rumors floating around about a ghost that resides in a massive mirror with a small crack. Despite the whispers, Ichika begins wiping the glass, only to notice a different figure gazing back at her instead of her reflection!
After losing her cellphone in the abandoned room and going back to look for it, Ichika finds the same figure - a girl named Manatsu Kuroki, adorned in a flowing gown and pigtails.
When Ichika retrieves her phone, the cellphone charm begins to glow, and she is transformed, allowing her to fly towards a Djinn. Her task is to help Manatsu complete her summer homework: to document her encounters with every Djinn she contacts via the cellphone charm. Completely unaware of the remarkable events that lie ahead, Ichika's meeting with Manatsu sets the stage for a summer she will never forget.
