Raised and trained by her grandfather Jigoro, Yawara Inokuma is a gifted judoka. Although her grandfather predicts that she will be the shining star of Japan's judo team in Seoul in 1988, Yawara has her own aspirations - finishing high school and finding a boyfriend, just like her peers. However, the prospect of being both an ordinary girl and an Olympic champion presents a challenging dilemma for her. Ultimately, Yawara must decide which path to take. This manga won the 35th Shogakukan Manga Award for general manga in 1990.
