Momoko Nanase had always dreamt of pursuing a career in illustration but found herself stuck in a job that designed materials for pachinko parlors. She couldn't fathom why she was still working there since the job didn't align with her goals and left her with a plethora of overwhelming assignments, bizarre co-workers, and sleepless nights. Her relationship with her boyfriend was faltering, and with no time for him, her friends urged her to quit as a newbie. Though she wrote her resignation letter, Momoko couldn't find the courage to turn it in, and it remained locked in her desk drawer.
One significant night, while on the building's rooftop, she confided in Masashi Tagaya, her colleague, about her longing to quit. He shared his belief that those who talk of leaving almost never do. As time passed, Momoko began to ponder whether it was time to exit or if she had feelings for Tagaya.
