Meet Nipori Ayumu, an octogenarian who has been confined to his dwelling for six decades because of a grave heart affliction. One day, he awakens with the conviction that he's twenty years old again. Even though he feels rejuvenated, his surroundings appear unfamiliar, leading him to believe it's all a dream. Ayumu's newfangled perception of life fills him with elation and hope for the future.
Enter Kodai Narisu, a recently recruited caregiver who bears a striking resemblance to Ayumu's former romantic interest. Narisu is a mere 18 years old and struggling to navigate the uncertainties of youth while grappling with a clandestine love. As the narrative progresses, their divergent lifestyles and outlooks merge in the old abode where they dwell. Ayumu starts to unravel the veracity of his reality and sets out to uncover whether his existence is, indeed, a dream.
