Affair is a compilation of brief narratives from a manga-creator whose male characters emit a strong sense of masculinity. Shiuko Kano has always been unafraid to depict genuine adult connections and, though Affair is less overt than her customary content, it is still consistent with her style. The book features a reunion between two former high school classmates, two sons of yakuza discovering mutual ground beyond dubious transactions, and a higher risk mahjong contest after hours.
