Fifteen years ago, there was a war between those living in outer space and those residing on Earth. The 7th Space War uncovered unique abilities among certain humans known as Newtypes - individuals who possessed extraordinary mental powers. While both sides valued these gifted people, the Earth Federation used Newtypes to control unmanned MS, called Bit-Mobile Suits, through the Flash System, resulting in much loss of life.
Conversely, those in space believed in fighting for the greater good and saw Newtypes as valuable beings, not tools of war. However, the war ended in tragedy: the Space Revolution Army crashed numerous colonies into Earth, causing millions of deaths. The survivors either found refuge in a Shelter or endured the harsh living conditions of a ruined planet.
Now, in After War 0015, Earth is slowly working towards building a better future, but ruthless mercenaries called Vultures continue to raid with mobile suits. Garrod Ran, a 15-year-old orphan of the war, survives through his knowledge of MS and is hired for a rescue mission that involves a powerful Newtype named Tiffa Adill. Tiffa's ability to dream the future and reveal the Gundam X makes Garrod question people's agendas and look towards the Vultures and Captain Jamil Neate as a means of survival in this new era.
