Vercingetorix, the Chieftain of the Arveni tribe, led a significant uprising in 52 B.C. that united the Gauls against the Roman authority. This is a narrative of his ascent to power, commencing with his valiant rescue of Taranis, an 11-year-old child from a tribe whose father, a distinguished Gallic hero, was killed by the Romans. Vercingetorix inspired Taranis to join his army and struggle for Gaul's liberation.
