+Anima, rare and enigmatic human-like creatures, possess the remarkable ability to assume the form of animals. Due to their uniqueness, they are shunned from society, and Cooro, a young orphan with crow-like qualities, grapples to find his place in the world. Rescued as a baby from a church, he is unaware of his origin and the reputation surrounding his kind. Consequently, he sets out to discover more about his species, hoping to find acceptance and a community.
Teaming up with Husky, Nana Alba, and Senri, Cooro embarks on a journey to meet other +Anima outcasts and determine his fate in an unforgiving terrain. As the four grow closer through their travels, a sense of adventure permeates their journey. However, they soon realize that landing in a place of belonging is a challenging feat.
+Anima delineates Cooro's and his companions' struggles and moments of triumph as they discover the complexities and biases faced by their kin.
