Set in Kyoto in 1863, the story follows the journey of a young man named Nio. Though he is kind and considerate to his family, Nio harbors a strong desire for justice. It is when he meets Toshizou Hijikata and Souji Okita, two members of the notorious ronin gang known as the Miburo, that Nio's fate begins to shift towards a clearer, more purposeful direction. Together with other brave and honorable men, Nio embraces a path of righteousness, their hearts adorned with the emblem of blue willpower.
