Sakuragi Ryo categorizes high schools into three ranks - "A" for the best-looking, smartest and most athletic, "B" for the average, and "C" for the ignored. Even though he was placed in the "A" rank during middle school, Ryo doesn't want to repeat the experience in his high school. He desires to lead a peaceful life in the "B" ranks where he can stay away from unwanted attention.
One afternoon, he comes across three bullies who are harassing a girl. Initially, Ryo tries to ignore the situation to avoid any trouble, but he eventually intervenes and rescues the girl. By a stroke of luck, the girl he saves turns out to be the most beautiful girl in school, who now wishes to show her gratitude to Ryo.
However, Ryo aims to maintain his "B" rank status and does everything possible to shun the limelight.
