A futuristic Japan sees the birth of a genetically engineered child in 2031, who begins to experience peculiar dreams reminiscent of the movie Gattaca. Upon analysis by Ambrosia Scans, the dreams are discovered to be a modern retelling of Kyokutei Bakin's renowned 19th-century epic, Chronicles of Eight Dogs. Unlike previous adaptations, the story unfolds in a not-too-distant future.
