After her mother passed away, Rin stopped practicing calligraphy. However, her interest was reignited when she came across the masterful work of high school calligrapher Uchida Dougen. Compelled to learn again, Rin enrolled in the same school as Dougen and the popular calligraphy club - more so a Dougen fan club. Eventually, when the student council president announced the club's disbandment, Rin took it upon herself to rally support and keep it alive. During this time, Dougen happened to be present and his curiosity was piqued by Rin's passion. Unknown to her, Dougen had a reputation as a ladies' man.
