Maiko experiences a significant shift in her perspective at the age of 14, as she starts to visualize flowers rather than heads on individuals in love. Initially, she believes that she is unaffected by this unusual occurrence; however, during a stroll home with her childhood pal Ichi Terakawa, she becomes conscious of a flower-like image of herself in a reflection. This new insight horrifies Maiko, prompting her to ponder whether she can eliminate this budding flower from her perception.
