A distinctive Captain Tsubasa story was created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Weekly Shonen Jump. This one-shot occurs during the gap between the end of the teenage soccer championship and the high school football competition in the original Captain Tsubasa series. Tsubasa is feeling down after Roberto leaves and Genzo and Taro prepare to travel, but his friends cheer him up by arraigning a friendly match with all his former rivals from the adolescent soccer championship.
