Set in the 1950's, a time when weekly manga magazines were nonexistent, the manga centers around a reasonably famous manga author who has three ongoing series. He openly claims that Osamu Tezuka's manga are dull, yet he covertly admires and collects all of his work. Aspiring to outdo Tezuka, he creates a one-sided rivalry towards him.
