Following her mother's death in a traffic accident, Michiru, a five-year-old tomboy, discovers a "suspicious individual" taking up residence in her household: her father's younger brother, Kouji, who she playfully dubs "Beard Gorilla." Although initially uncomfortable, they quickly form a bond reminiscent of siblings rather than an uncle and niece.
