One day, Yaichi Origuchi's ordinary routine is disrupted by the sudden arrival of a sturdy foreigner at his doorstep. This stranger, who introduces himself as Mike Flanagan, claims to be the husband of Yaichi's twin brother Ryouji, who passed away recently after marrying him ten years ago.
Despite Yaichi's initial hesitation, his daughter Kana is thrilled to now have a gay Canadian uncle. This enthusiasm also brings to light Kana's lack of knowledge about Japan's cultural stance towards homosexuality, forcing Yaichi to reflect on his own prejudices. As Mike becomes a temporary member of the family, Yaichi begins to bond with him, uncovering more about his late brother-in-law and reminiscing about his own experiences with Ryouji.
